NAUGHTY: Christmas Cookies

It's the most wonderful time of the year for COOKIES!

And Wednesday, otherwise known as "The Day Laura Cooks" is also National Cocoa day, according to thenibble.com. Cookies go fantastically with cocoa.

I've made a few this year... from "Chocolate No-Bake Cookies with M&Ms" to "Oreo Cake Balls" to my new favorite, "Elf Munch". I'll put the recipes at the end of this entry.

Elf Munch

Chocolate No-Bake Cookies with M&Ms
Oreo Cake Balls

My FAVORITE holiday cookie has to be the peanut butter blossom. Hands down. Plus, I've already made too many of the above mentioned so I need a new challenge. And I have a TON of left over pretzels and M&Ms from the "Elf Munch".... so we're going to make what I'm calling "Pretzel Presses".

Both of these treats are great for kiddos to help out with. They'll have a blast pressing the candy into the warm cookies/ pretzels.

First... Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies. Got this recipe from my go to source, Betty Crocker.

You will need:

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter softened
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder

additional sugar (about 2 table spoons)
about 7 dozen Hershey's kisses milk/ dark chocolates

Heat oven to 375. In a large bowl, beat 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls, roll in additional sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in the center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

DELISH! What goes better together than peanut butter and chocolate?? Not much, my friends. Not much.

Now on to the Pretzel Press!

You Will Need:

A bag of pretzels, twisted into a shape
3 bags of Rolo candies, unwrapped
1 large bag Christmas M&Ms

Heat your oven to 300. Line your cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper. Spread out pretzels into a single layer and top each with a Rolo.

Bake for 4 minutes then immediately press and top with an M&M.

Yes. That easy.

As for the other recipes.. here you go :)

Chocolate Peanut-Butter No Bake Cookies (I added M&Ms)
Oreo Cake Balls
Elf Munch - I added honey roasted peanuts and covered ALL of it with white chocolate, no chocolate.

There you go!

Happy Christmas Cookie Making :)

Question for you:
What's your favorite Christmas Cookie?
xoxo
